Nyatanya, kehadiran Uber ini ditentang habis-habisan di 14 negara. Akhirnya, terjadi pengkajian ulang dari segi hukum mengenai operasionalisasi Uber. Namun, ternyata tidak sedikit pemerintah yang langsung tegas melarang Uber beroperasi.
Uber didirikan oleh dua pebisnis bernama Travis Kalanick dan Garret Camp pada tahun 2009 di San Fransisco, Amerika Serikat. Kini, mereka merambah ke 57 negara dengan capaian omzet Rp 237 triliun.
Namun, fenomena yang sama terjadi. Uber membuat bisnis taksi konvensional terdesak. Sehingga memunculkan aksi protes di banyak tempat. Negara mana sajakah itu?

Thailand

Di Negeri Gajah Putih ini, taksi Uber juga dipaksa menghentikan operasinya. Terutama taksi online mereka yang berpelat hitam. Supir taksi konvensional menganggap Uber membawa dampak buruk bagi pemasukan mereka.

India

 

Uber dilarang beroperasi, lantaran banyak pengemudi nakal yang memperkosa pelanggan mereka. Mungkin pengemudi tersebut hanyalah oknum, tapi jika satu orang melakukan kesalahan, maka nama perusahaan pasti akan terkena imbasnya.
Wah, di negara ini citra Uber justru tidak baik ya. Pantas saja jika keberadaan Uber meresahkan masyarakat, khususnya perempuan.

Jepang

 

Di negara ini, Uber tidak bisa menerapkan aturan sendiri, sebagaimana yang terjadi di Indonesia.

Kanada

 

Banyak sopir Uber nakal dan tidak mengikuti prosedur, termasuk pelatihan bagi pengemudi dan pengecekan kendaraan.
Hal ini membuat pemerintah Kanada bertindak tegas pada Uber. Bahkan Uber menarik layanan mereka sendiri sebab ketegasan dari pemerintah.

Belanda

 

Uber dilarang beredar dikarenakan melanggar peraturan mengenai pengemudi komersial. Mereka juga banyak yang tidak punya izin mengemudi.
Sama seperti di negara-negara lain, kecuali Jepang, Uber Taxi perlu banyak perbaikan pada bagian legalitas izin usaha, dan jika memungkinkan, bersinergi dengan taksi konvensional.

Taiwan
